About Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking

What is “Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking”?

Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking, a new 13-episode series produced by WGBH and Fine Cooking magazine, takes viewers on a culinary journey across America. Our talented host, Pete Evans, teams up with the country’s most innovative chefs and food artisans, who are known for their use of fresh regional ingredients, to create spontaneous delicious feasts in unique settings for friends and family that will inspire home cooks everywhere.

Who is Pete Evans?

Pete Evans is an award-winning Australian chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, and host of Australia’s #1 prime time TV show. Born in Melbourne and raised on Australia’s beautiful Gold Coast, Pete is not your average chef—he’s also an avid fisherman, surfer, cookbook author, and television personality. There’s no better chef to host and orchestrate these feasts than Pete Evans. He’s not afraid to let go, in cooking and in life. His philosophy is simple: cook with love and with laughter.

How did we choose the chefs and locations?

It all started with the chefs. We wanted to showcase those known for their innovative cuisine, use of fresh regional ingredients, and who have established close relationships with local food purveyors and artisans. After we knew what chefs were on board, we collaborated to find a beautiful or unique location for each of the feasts—from a secret sea cove on the California coast to a rooftop garden in New York City and everything in between. In each of the episodes, these passionate and engaging chefs share their tips and techniques, much like Fine Cooking magazine, to inspire viewers to cook at home.

How did the collaboration between Fine Cooking and WGBH come about?

Fine Cooking magazine and WGBH shared a mutual goal of creating innovative cooking content for TV. Both organizations are known for delivering high-quality, reliable content, so it was a perfect fit. Through this collaboration, Fine Cooking magazine and WGBH have created an exciting new show that features delicious, mouthwatering food prepared by the best chefs in the country.
