Host Alex Thomopoulos, inspired by the autumn season in Connecticut and its bounty of apples, created this refreshing apple cider spritz that features a simple syrup made with maple syrup and rosemary.
Connecticut Apple Cider Spritz
Ingredients
For the Rosemary Maple Simple Syrup
⅓ cup maple syrup
⅓ cup water
2 sprigs rosemary
1 sprig thyme
For the Spritz
16 ounces natural apple cider
8 ounces chilled sparkling water
3 ounces fresh lemon juice
4 ounces rosemary maple syrup
Apple slices and rosemary sprigs, for garnish
Instructions
Make the simple syrup: n a small saucepan, bring all ingredients to a boil and stir until sugar is dissolved, about 1 minute. Remove from the heat and let cool completely.
Make the spritz: In a large pitcher, combine all ingredients, stir and serve in large glasses filled with ice. Garnish with apple slices and sprigs of rosemary.
